Infrastructure as code

From GitHub repository to Terraform files

Brunel analyzes your application's needs, proposes cloud architectures, and generates the associated infrastructure files. Keep the decisions and estimated costs next to the code, for review by your team.

Analyze my repository

A three-step journey

  1. 1. Analyze the repository

Identify the needs for computing, storage, database, and services from the code. Review the evidence and assumptions before choosing an architecture.

  2. 2. Choosing an architecture

Compare the proposed levels for AWS or Scaleway and their estimated costs. Adjust the proposal to the needs and constraints of your project.

  3. 3. Review the generated files

Retrieve Terraform, CI workflows, and operation documents. Verify the files and the Terraform plan before making any changes to your cloud account.

Generation does not replace infrastructure review

Validations of the generated files help detect form and consistency errors. They do not guarantee that an architecture meets all your security, availability, or cost constraints. Reviewing the Terraform plan and permissions remains a step in your deployment.

Frequently asked questions

What does Brunel produce in addition to Terraform?
Depending on the plan's features, Brunel also generates CI workflows, architecture decisions, and documentation. The product journey describes the steps and deliverables.
Are the files deployed immediately?
No. Review the assumptions, resources, and permissions, then the Terraform plan. You decide on the changes and their execution in your CI.
Can costs be estimated before deploying?
Architectures are priced based on the official AWS and Scaleway catalogs. The estimate depends on usage assumptions and proposed resources; your actual bill may differ.
